What’s the weighing principle of multihead scale?

The core principle of the combination scale is to use multiple independent weighing units (typically 8 to 32 units) to quickly and synchronously weigh the material. The built-in precision control system selects and combines multiple weighing results based on the preset target weight and optimization algorithm to find the combination closest to the ideal value.

This ensures the weight accuracy of each product batch, significantly reduces instances of over-weight or under-weight, effectively saves material costs, and improves the batch pass rate.

  • Feeding Process: The product is conveyed via a conveyor belt to the feed hopper. It is then distributed to the linear vibrating trays through the vibration of the top cone.

  • Distribution Process: The product is evenly distributed to each linear vibrating tray, from which it then drops into the feed hoppers via linear vibration. Once the weighing hoppers have completed the previous combination cycle, the feed hoppers open their gates to discharge the product into the weighing hoppers.

  • Combination Process: Based on the target weight, the CPU combines the weight data received from each weighing hopper and selects the combination closest to the target from among all the eligible combinations.

  • Discharge Process: There are four methods to discharge the product to the next piece of equipment.

    1. Direct Discharge: The product is discharged directly from the collection hopper to the next piece of equipment.
    2. Timed Hopper Discharge: After being discharged from the collection hopper, the product is first stored in a timed hopper and then dumped into the next piece of equipment. This function is used to collect the product and shorten the discharge time.
    3. Timed Hopper Discharge: After being discharged from the collection hopper, the product is first stored in a timed hopper. It is then discharged separately to the next two pieces of equipment based on their discharge request signals. This function fully leverages the high-speed characteristics of the multi-head scale.
    4. Timed Hopper + Automatic Sorting: After being discharged from the collection hopper, the product is first stored in a timed hopper. If the product weight is unqualified, the automatic sorting motor will open the right hopper gate to discharge the product into the reject chute.

What is a multihead scale?

A combination scale, also known as a multihead weigher, is a high-precision automatic weighing device based on advanced weighing technology and intelligent algorithms. It is widely used in industries with strict requirements for measurement accuracy, such as food, pharmaceuticals, and daily chemicals.

The multihead weigher significantly improves food production efficiency and product quality through precise measurement, automated processes, and intelligent management. It achieves full-process automation from feeding, weighing, and filling to date printing, significantly reducing manual intervention and labor costs.
